Cheers to a long weekend and Happy Birthday to Canada!
In celebration of Canada’s 150th I thought I would share some of my favourite Canadian memories!
You probably don’t know this about me but I grew up camping every summer at some of Ontario’s most beautiful national parks.
This is where I learned to build a fire, pitch a tent, fish, hike through 20km trails, cliff jump off of 30ft cliffs, identify poison ivy and not be afraid of the outdoors and everything that comes with it.
I’ve seen bears up close, rattle snakes (while picking wild blueberries), swam with turtles, visited first nations’ reserves, learned to canoe, and laid on bedrocks with my family at night counting shooting stars and telling stories.
Some of my most favourite memories happened hours away from the city. I was allowed and encouraged to explore the wilderness, to jump off of 30ft cliffs (which I did many times) and to fall (which I also did many times while hiking) to get back up again and keep going.
So to the Canada I know and love dearly, a Canada that has shaped me and made me unafraid to jump and explore, Happy Birthday!
p.s i’m also wearing a Canadian designer who is???? – Ki – her stuff literally hugs you in all the right places and goes perfectly with this kimono from Zara that Im kind of obsessed with and these Aldo shoes I love.
Hope you all have an amazing and safe long weekend!
