Summer has basically been non existent in Toronto so I am fully embracing the fall weather we have been getting. And when the temperature drops there is nothing I love more than throwing on a pair of Nike Tech Fleece.

*Back story: I was a gymnast most my life and had (and still have) a very muscular and athletic body. I was made fun of and called a lot of mean names because I wasn’t the “average” – whatever the fuck that means- girl. I used to wear the biggest & baggiest clothing I could find and hid in my clothes. The less people saw, the less comments they were likely to make. I was also very much into sports so my guise worked well.

Fast forward to today and I live in track pants for a different reason. I had to grow some pretty thick skin and once I started embracing who I was, the less f*cks I gave. I also started seeing more women who were athletes, who also had muscular bodies (like mine) and were total badasses! Women who were championed and who were celebrated for their abilities rather than their bodies.
My baggy-ish track pants started to stand for something more.

I no longer hide in my clothes and instead wear them to celebrate who I am.
On days where I’m running around and really don’t want to wear anything to restricting, I throw these on with a plain white T. When the colder weather rolls around, I’ll throw on the matching Nike zip-up tech fleece jacket.

What I love most about this look is that while it is casual, it’s not bummy and you can have both: comfort and effortless style.
