How many of you can pronounce all the ingredients in your skincare products? How many of you even know what half of them are? I know I definitely cannot.
In your late teens you buy whatever you can afford; that usually means something that smells sweet and comes in cute packaging. As your approach your thirties you start spending more time and money on products of quality and yes, packaging still matters.
Since time and gravity are not on our sides – thanks to mother nature- it is even more imperative to think about the things we put on our skin because what you put onto your body is just as important as what you put into your body.
For a while now there has been much debate over organic vs non-organic products.
Sure, organic may cost you more but wouldn’t you want to spend an extra few dollars if it means it will be better for you?
When I think of organic, I think: zero pesticides, zero toxic chemicals and basically zero of anything bad… but would you believe me if I told you I was wrong.
In North America there are no regulations on what can be labelled as natural and many things can pass as organic, even if they’re not. I mean how scary is that?
All Natural Skincare
Today there are some amazing companies that are revolutionizing the skincare game and putting health at the forefront of what they do.
After being faced with some health issues, Tania Costa, owner of Lavish & Lavender, started to look more closely at the ingredients in the products she was using. Most were ingredients she could not recognize, much less pronounce and this worried her.
Wanting to use products that were safe and natural, Tania created Lavish & Lavender, a skincare line that is actually all-natural, 100% certified organic and is safe for the whole family.
Lavish & Lavender
At first what you notice is the packaging. It’s simple, beautiful and what’s most important is that every product lists all the ingredients which you can actually recognize and pronounce.
Aside from loving the packaging, the product line is so good. From the skin balm to the bath salts, everything is made using ingredients like raw cocoa butter, raw avocado oil, lavender, peppermint and more; you immediately smell and feel the goodness of these products. The cream and bath salts are two of my top faves!
What I love most about Lavish & Lavender is that it speaks true to who Tania is.
Growing up, Tania was raised eating fruits and vegetables grown by her parents at their farm where they also raise their own free range chickens and have fresh hormone free eggs daily! Today Tania practices the same; she grows her own fruits and vegetables. She wanted to create and share a product line that spoke and speaks to her way of living- Lavish & Lavender is honest, simple and good for you & your whole family.
Oh and I cannot forget about these candles. Also made with all natural ingredients, these candles are unreal! My favourite – which is the cheaper and better version of the Joe Malone – which I still like – is the Johnny Cash. I actually asked bae to swap the bath and body works candles we have for these.
Making The Switch
Making the change to all natural products can be daunting and challenging but it doesn’t have to be; you don’t have to throw everything you have out. You can start making changes as simple as changing the candles in your home and changing the skin balm you use everyday.
Once you notice the difference and the peace of mind you have knowing you are using products that are safe for you and your family, changing more of your products becomes easier.
If you’re looking to make the change, make sure to visit Lavish & Lavender and follow them here. If you have any questions, feel free to message Tania – she is a wealth of knowledge and is honestly one of the sweetest and funniest people I know!
p.s Happy Valentines Day!
