My favourite season is any season but winter. Seriously. I hate the cold, I loathe wearing 100 layers (or what feels like 100 layers) and the grey weather; I hate it and am over it!
What I love is when the weather gets better, the sun makes a few more appearances and when winter turns to spring. The weather is finally getting warmer which means we can forgo the snow suits and substitute them for something lighter and cuter!
Today I’m sharing a look featuring a few of my favourite transitional pieces.
Transitioning From Winter to Spring
SKIRTS/SKORTS & SHORTS
I love skirts, skorts and shorts. In the winter you can pair them with opaque tights and chunky sweaters. When the weather warms up you can throw on some thigh highs like these Stuart Weitzmans I love. I love this checked mini skirt from Zara and the lace detailing at the bottom. It’s the details, for me, that elevate a look.
THIGH HIGH BOOTS
Thigh high boots are perfect for spring, fall and winter – that is, if you’re not walking around in the snow in them. These are from Stuart Weitzman but you can find amazing thigh highs that work for every budget. I recently wore these with faux leather shorts – here and am dying for their lowland over the knee in light grey to wear with a spring dress.
HATS
I am a sucker for hats. Baseball caps, berets, fedoras (see here) and now the newsboy cap that is very popular. Accessories add so much to a look; if you want to add a little something extra to your outfit, try adding a hat and great handbag.
Are you as excited for the spring/summer as I am?
