Tis the season for runny noses and unstoppable sneezing.
I, like you, have ended up sick after not listening to my body (womp, womp).
I’ve looked for quick fixes like taking ginger or turmeric shots but at that point, it’s already a little too late. Once you have a cold, the fight to get rid of it is harder.

Today I’m sharing 5 ways you can keep a cold and the sniffles away.

5 Ways to Keep a Cold Away

SLEEP

8 hours of sleep has been proven to help your immune function better.
I know a lot of people who tell me that they sleep 5-6 hours a night. Like, how? I cannot function without 8 hours of sleep. After putting my body to the test many times, I’ve learned that sleep cures a lot!

WORK OUT

Get your sweat on!
Working out is a great way to prevent getting the cold and flu virus. In addition to giving you endorphins, working out also enhances your immune function.

GARLIC

Bring on the stinky breath.
Want to keep a cold away? Eat more garlic.
Garlic has the ability to boost your immune system and is antiviral and anti-fungal.

GREEN TEA/ MATCHA

 Drink green tea.
The cheap stuff doesn’t cut it; if you want to keep that cold away, invest in the good stuff.
I am super picky when it comes to green tea and recently bought some amazing matcha from Tealish; I have it over ice w/coconut milk and I love it!
Green tea is loaded with antioxidants and flavanoids that boost your immunity.

MINIMIZE SUGAR, DAIRY AND ALCOHOL

Sugar, dairy and alcohol have been proven to lower your immune system. If you want sugar, have fruit and look for fruits that are high in antioxidants and vitamins.
My go-to’s are blackberries, blueberries and raspberries.

I am the queen of getting sick,
so this year I am going to do everything in my power to make sure I don’t.
What are some of the ways you keep the cold and flu at bay?
Leave me a comment and let me know!
